Mati likes her hats.

Hold on

Matilda holds on tight as we take off on our Stroller Strides workout.

First shoes

Now that Mati has been walking inside for three weeks, we would like to have her walk outside. Time for shoes!

Too big to carry

Although Matilda can walk around the house now, she occasionally gets stuck in one place by holding on to something that is too big to carry.

In this case, it's not the lid but her activity table that is keeping her in the kitchen.

Sandal

Matilda is both happy and intrigued by her sandal.

Drink

Matilda is starting to use her baby signs. She often does the sign for milk--hold hand out and squeezes as if milking a cow. She also does the sign for drink--closed fist with thumb out in drinking motion.

Following her sign for drink, I gave her a drink of water. She's not yet ready for a large glass but does a great job with her sippy.

Learning is a process

Mati is trying to pick up her bib. Mati is standing on her bib. Something has to give.

Walking Matilda

Matilda is not yet waltzing although she is now walking. Here is the proof with something in each hand.

1 year old

This video was taken on August 4th when Matilda turned one. Matilda jumped for joy on her birthday while I clucked like a chicken. Parents will do anything for their kids.

Mati & Daddy

It's tough getting both Matilda and Matt in the same pic while standing.

Morning

Matt enjoys his morning coffee. Mati enjoys holding Daddy's hand.

Mmmm...yogurt

Matilda likes yogurt and spoons. We usually give her a couple while eating.

Two things

Mati chooses to hold on to a block and her activity table before slipping onto her bum. Nonetheless, she is still holding on.

Eventually, she did let go of the table.

Blocks

Matilda still likes to have something in each hand, even while walking.

Diaper time

Matt has always been great about changing Mati's diaper. During the first month, he took care of the output while I managed the input.

We now share the responsibilities of feeding and changing her.

Reading

Matilda helps me read the book, Baby Animals.

So proud

Matilda is so proud of her new found walking skills. Such a big smile! I love the way babies hold their arms when they first learn to walk.

20 steps

Matilda has walked 20 consecutive steps on her own.

We can officially declare that she is now walking.

On the move

Matilda goes from crawling, to standing on her tip toes, and back down again.

More practice walking

Matt (again) helps Mati practice her walking. Matilda adds another level of difficulty by carrying the border of her play mat while circling her Dad.

Pretty in green

Matilda practices walking (with help from Dad) in her pretty green sun dress. Although she's not yet walking by herself, she has moved from holding two hands to one.

UPDATE: Matilda took her first 5 steps this Labor Day Weekend. She then walked 14 steps the next day. Video will be posted soon.

Still waiting

Mati reads a book or two while I grab her a new shirt.

So patient

After a bit of spit up, Matilda waits patiently for another shirt.
