7 weeks old

Happy seven weeks and one day. Matilda used a pacifier for one whole day. The next day, however, she decided she still prefers our pinkies.

5 weeks old

Matilda is now 5 weeks old (and 2 days.) According to her pediatrician, Matilda has gained a pound and a half since birth as well as two inches. She is now a hefty 9.38 lbs. and 21.5 ins.

It's always hard to have everyone look at the camera at the same time. Nonetheless, it's a nice family photo.

I forget how tall Matt is--can't remember if he is wearing shoes. Matilda also has two socks on--versus just one with another missing somewhere around the house. Plus my belly bump is gone--or most of it.

Baby's first earthquake was a quick 4.0 jolt from the east. She didn't notice.

Everything is so tiny and adorable. Amazing how those little hands grow.

Matilda already misses all the grandparents. It was great having family in town. We can't wait to see you all over the holidays.

1st birthday

Happy 1st (month) birthday, Matilda! Just one month ago, you became a Smart. Since then, you have given us approximately:

• 150 hours of sleep (~5 per night)
• 300 diapers (~10 per day)
• 240 hours of nursing (~8 per day--more eating than sleeping)
• 10 hours of sucking on our pinky finger (it's a newish trick--ow, my pinky)
• endless hours of love

Today Matilda is 4 weeks and 1 day old.

Yesterday we celebrated her 4 week birthday with Dim Sum. She is quite handy with chop sticks, even with her eyes closed and no hands.
