New bib

Actually, it's not a new bib. It's the answer to the previous post.

Today we learned that the "First Christmas" bib can become a plain white bib if we flip it over. That was just one of our bright ideas today.

Another idea, pancakes made with formula. Not necessarily a good idea, but an idea nonetheless.

My first Christmas

When does it become too late to wear the "My First Christmas" bib?

Mmmm...chocolate covered pretzels

My attempt at chocolate covered pretzels was interrupted by Matilda's crying.

You can see that they started out very neat before I ended up pouring the chocolate on.

Needless to say, they were all yummy.

Puppy love

You know your puppy loves you when...

Afterwards, Mati felt better. The puppy, not so much.

More strolling

Here is another pic of Matilda while out for a stroll. This goes with a photo I posted earlier.

Where's Mati?

I like this pic of Matt and Mati as it reminds me of when you're pregnant but don't look pregnant from behind.

It's like Matt is pregnant as you can only see the tip of Matilda's head.

Plus it's a beautiful day!

Matilda says

“Size matters not, ... Look at me. Judge me by size, do you?”
Actually, that's Yoda. But Matilda agrees.

More Presidio hike

Matt carried Matilda while she read the map.

After a long hike, Mati fell asleep.

Presidio hike

On MLK day, we took a hike around the Presidio.

Did I mention the beautiful weather?

Roar!

Matilda sleeps soundly with her snow leopard.

Thank you, Great Grandma Smart. It's just her size.

20 January, 2009

Yay!

Matilda is very excited to take a walk in the carrier. So is Dad.

Dad sez: "She's also happy for Obama!"

Coffee and smiles

Matt and I take turns posing with Matilda and our coffee in front of the Golden Gate.

It's nice to take a walk with our daughter on a warm weekend in January.

Blue sky

Not to dwell on the beautiful weather, but January has been just beautiful.

Out for a stroll

Here are a few pics of Matilda out for a stroll.

She likes the view of the bridge as well as playing with her stroller snail.

It's a date

Thanks to Auntie Tiff for babysitting Matilda while Matt and I went to the San Francisco Symphony with Leonard Nimoy (Spock!) narrating Peter and the Wolf.

Best bottle warmer

Gordon Biersch offered the best bottle warmer, a giant stein. Daddy also enjoyed his beverage.

Plane ride

On the airplane, Matilda played with Matt's new phone.

When I was little, my mom gave me Mad Libs to play with on the plane. Times have changed.

Final holiday pics

Just a few more holiday pics to share.

My cousins had such a beautiful Christmas tree.

Bear paws

Mati models her rocket scientist shirt with her bear paw pants.

The paws kept Matilda warm in MI. They are very Grover. Is Grover a bear? Or maybe they're more Cookie Monster blue.

Auntie Autumn

Thanks to Auntie Autumn for sharing this pic of her and Mati.

Grandma Smart

Kisses from Grandma Smart.

Birthday again

It's my 30th birthday again, and again, and ...

10 January, 2009

Long day

Matilda is tired after a long day of meeting relatives during the holiday festivities.

Under the tree

Matilda hangs out with the presents under the tree.

Other side

Here is the other side of the family.

Although not Smart in name, still very witty and rather good looking.

Smart side

Over the holidays we visited Great Grandma Smart.

Here are a couple pics of the Smart side of the family.

Matt says: "The first photo shows four generations of Smarts. The second photo shows four generations of Smart women."

Younger cousin

Mati met her younger cousin Max over the holidays. Matilda is older by three days.

As you can see from the pics, they enjoyed playing next to each other.

Cheeks

Thanks to the cold, dry air, Matilda's cheeks were quite rosey over the holidays.

Here she shows off her chubby cheeks while having her diaper changed.

Holding Mati

Here are just a few more, besides Santa, to hold Matilda this holiday season.

Santa Claus

Matilda enjoyed a white Christmas, Santa and all. Maybe next year Mati will be a bit more excited about Jolly Ol' St. Nick.

This year, Santa was just another one of the many friends and relatives to hold her.
